Building Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods in Jordan
The European Union, in collaboration with Alfanar, the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), and the Jordanian Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD), has launched the SUSTAIN Programme under the initiative “Building Pathways to Sustainable Livelihoods.”
This two-year programme aims to economically empower refugees and vulnerable Jordanians in Amman, Irbid, and Mafraq, ensuring access to decent jobs and sustainable economic opportunities.
Programme Highlights
This initiative focuses on supporting growth-stage social enterprises and cooperatives that drive job creation and economic opportunity while fostering innovation and sustainable development.
Selected enterprises will:
- Work on a long-term social business plan with Alfanar for enhanced financial sustainability.
- Participate in transformative training and development sessions.
By investing in locally-led social enterprises, the SUSTAIN programme aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
- SDG 10: Reduced Inequality
- A grant of up to €60,000 to support your initiatives.
- Customized management and technical support to scale your operations.
- Networking opportunities with industry leaders and stakeholders.
- Eligibility for regional market exploration and learning exchange trips.
Who Can Apply?
We are seeking social enterprises that:
- Are growth-stage and focused on creating economic opportunities and promoting decent work.
- Operate in Amman, Irbid, or Mafraq.
- Are committed to social impact and financial viability.
