The Greater Madaba Municipality is one of the municipalities of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and is located in the central region. It is a private institution that enjoys a legal personality with financial and administrative independence. It defines, cancels and determines the boundaries of its region, its tasks and powers in accordance with the Local Administration Law No. 22 of 2021, where the name goes back to the ancient municipality of Al-Fatarat in which the people met and decided to establish a municipality.
